denial and avoidance are themes we see over and over in the White Plague. The marshals blood thirsty obsession with war and dismissal of the horrors of both its horrors and the horrors of the plague are the main source of conflict in this show. Using bold and garish color choices emphasize this denial, with the contrast of the whiteness of the plague being completely blotted out with an oversaturation of hues.
